10 Turkish universities among world's top 500

10 Turkish universities are among the top 500 universities in the world says Middle East Technical University (METU) Professor Ural Akbulut. Akbulut compared eight separate lists from various institutions that ranked schools over the world and discovered that 10 Turkish universities ranked among the world's top 500 colleges in 2012. Middle East Technical University (METU), Istanbul University, Hacettepe University, Ankara University, Ege University, Bilkent, Gazi University, Boğazici University, Koc University and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) were listed among the 500 best universities in the world this year. It is believed that Turkish universities have risen to higher ranks compared to previous years.
