The 24th meeting of Supreme Council for Science and Technology (SCST), chaired by the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was held yesterday at Vali Galip Demirel, Vilayetler Evi, Golbasi, Ankara with the participation of a great many ministers. Speaking at the opening of meeting, Erdogan said that a great many recent incidents, including the terrorist attacks and developments in Syria, were closely related to each other. "The circles which are disturbed by Turkey's achievements and improvements are trying to hinder us and spoil our route through every means possible, including terrorism. But Turkey has been closely following these efforts, and taking and implementing necessary measures." Erdogan also said that Turkey, with a strong political will against terrorism, has improved its anti-terrorism efforts to a great extent, and that Turkey would continue to support its defense industry. "We have been getting increasingly favorable results from our investments in defense industry in the last decade. Turkey is now capable of developing and producing its own technology aimed at fighting terrorism, along with other necessary equipment for its defense," Erdogan added.
