Babacan: "Turkey is enjoying both fast growth and falling inflation"
Turkey's economy is witnessing a higher-than-expected growth rate accompanied by falling inflation, Deputy Prime Minister for the Economy Ali Babacan said yesterday. Touting the economy's performance, Babacan stressed Turkey's fast economic growth in the first half of this year along with a fall in price increases. "While the Turkish economy is securing a strong domestic demand performance and a growth rate above predictions this year, inflation is on the decline. This is an extremely positive development," Babacan said. These developments indicate that inflation is following a course in line with Turkey's mid-term economic goals, he added.
