Erdogan receives Olympic medalists
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Turkey's London Olympic Games medalists yesterday in his office in Ankara. In his meeting with runners Aslı Cakir Alptekin, Gamze Bulut, taekwondo fighters Servet Tazegul, Nur Tatar and wrestler Riza Kayaalp, Erdogan congratulated them for their achievements. Erdogan gave the athletes mobile phones as gifts, but said a bigger bonus would be presented later. The five athletes who have won a total of two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal will get a total bonus worth more than five million Turkish Liras. The meeting which was closed to the press was also attended by Youth and Sports Minister Suat Celik.
