Greek FM: "Turkey's accession to the European union is key"

Greece believes that Turkey's accession to the European Union is important, said Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis on Monday. Speaking at the Brooking Institution think-tank in Washington, DC, she stated that Greece strongly supports Turkey's accession, and has proved this over the years. "No doubt Turkey has a long and winding road ahead," she added. "Nevertheless, it is clear that it is a road well worth travelling because it would benefit both Turkey and Europe."
