Istanbul becomes the world congress champion

 

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbas said yesterday that Istanbul became the world congress champion, hosting 53 international conferences last year with more than 500 participants to each one. Speaking at the award ceremony, Topbas said Istanbul is followed by Paris and Singapore. Reminding that Istanbul had only one congress center when he was elected as Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Topbas said the city is proud to have a Istanbul and Halic Congress Centers now with high capacities. Also attending the ceremony, Murat Yalcintas, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) Chairman, thanked Topbas for Istanbul's big achievement, vowing full support and sponsorship on behalf of ITO for future projects.
