The famous submarine Nautilus which is operated by the Ocean Exploration Trust and its founder Robert Ballard is set to search and rescue two missing pilots of the Turkish military aircraft which was shot down by Syria last Friday. The Nautilus has previously found the wrecks of many historical ships such as Titanic and Bismark. Reportedly, the submarine has been ordered by the US State Department to help Turkey on the issue. Captain Tufan Turanli, who is responsible for activities of the Nautilus in Turkey, said yesterday that officials from the US State Department met with Ballard, asking him to carry out all sorts of preparations so that the Nautilus helps Turkey. In return, Ballard ordered Nautilus to depart, after necessary permissions are taken.
