A winged seahorse brooch, one of the most important pieces in the Croesus Treasure, which was stolen from a museum in Turkey eight years ago and recently found in Germany, was returned to Turkey on Wednesday. Culture and Tourism Minister Omer Celik thanked his successor Ertugrul Gunay, German officials, Interpol, Turkish Embassy in Germany, personnel of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and all of those who contributed to save the brooch. After the brooch has been found in Hagen, Germany, it was kept by German authorities in the safe-deposit of the Central Bank.
