TOBB chairman attends Turkish-Jordanian Economic Cooperation meeting

Speaking at the Turkish-Jordanian Economic Cooperation Meeting which was organized as a part of Jordan's King Abdullah II Ibn al-Hussein's visit to Ankara, Chairman of Turkey's Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) Rifat Hisarciklioglu said that Turkey's private sector has been greatly improved especially in the last 30 years. "We are always ready for sharing our experiences with our Jordanian brothers," Hisarciklioglu noted. Reiterating that the foreign trade volume between the two countries has climbed to $870 million in 2012, Hisarciklioglu said, "We have increased our trade volume by 50 percent through the Free Trade Agreement which came into force in 2011, but we will not stop there. Actually the removal of visas has triggered such as process. We express our gratitude to his majesty. We aim to increase our trade volume to $2 billion as soon as possible." Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, King Abdullah II said that he was pleased by the development of relations between the two countries. "I see the high quality of work conducted by Turkish entrepreneurs in Jordan, especially in the construction sector. There are investment opportunities in many fields in Jordan, and we want to establish partnership with Turkish investors," King Abdullah II added.
