Spring Festival in the Central Asia

President Abdullah Gul received the culture and art envoys of International Turkish Culture Organization (TURKSOY) member countries at the Cankaya Mansion on the occasion of the Spring Festival Newroz. Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Gunay also attended the meeting. TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov presented a tray full of fresh and dried fruits that are symbolising the beginning of the spring. Gul who celebrated Newroz said, "You all came here from all over this huge geography like flowers. Thus we have started the spring." The spring festival Newroz was also celebrated at the United Nations and Turkic republics. During the celebration organized at UN by Turkey, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan permanent representatives, "peace, brotherhood, harmony and dialog" messages were given.
