The 11th International Turkish Olympics kicked off in Ankara with a ceremony held at the 19 Mayis Stadium on Saturday. Deputy Prime Ministers Bulent Arinc and Ali Babacan, Interior Minister Muammer Guler, National Education Minister Nabi Avci, Mayor of Ankara Melih Gokcek and several deputies attended the ceremony at the 19 Mayis Stadium in Ankara. Students from all corners of the world sang songs and danced at the ceremony. Activities as part of the Turkish Olympics will continue until June 16 in more than 50 Turkish provinces. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Arinc said that the songs and dances performed as part of Turkish Olympics were among the things that should be done for 'alliance of civilizations' and universal peace. "Dialog, compromise, sharing, knowing each other, seeing our differences as wealth, everything is inside this work that is done. These young people remind of us peace." said Arinc.
