Atalay orders preparations for general elections

Interior Minister Besir Atalay yesterday ordered provincial police chiefs to start preparing for this June's general elections. "The police did well during last year's referendum," he said. "I want the same sensitivity shown for these elections." Under new poll regulations, police have been given more authority, he added.
