Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said that certain problems and threats were made a current issue by the global crisis, which has been influencing the world since 2007-2008, as well as the political and social transformation in many regions. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the International Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Conference held at the Grand Cevahir Hotel and Congress Center in Istanbul, Babacan said, "Nevertheless, just like all of the changes, this change also encompasses certain opportunities." Stating that the economic structure has rapidly changed, Babacan said that today's professions which were considered effective would become totally ineffective in 10-20 years. "As a result, such concepts as ‘lifelong' have come to the forefront in many countries. Changing the course in every sphere of life will become a very important issue in everybody's life experience," Babacan added.
