Bagis becomes visiting executive editor for Turkiye Daily

Turkey’s European Union Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis became the guest of the visiting executive editor meeting which is held every year by the Turkiye daily, in which Bagis evaluated the headlines to be covered and Turkey’s agenda along with the daily’s executive editor, columnists and editorial board members. Touching upon the economic crisis suffered by EU member countries, Bagis said that the EU feels obliged to turn in upon and protect itself. Stating that Turkey will continue improving itself thanks to its reforms and giving a ray of hope to humanity through its determination in advanced democracy and innovative spirit. Touching upon the second round of presidential elections to be held in France on Sunday, Bagis said that it would not make any difference to Turkey if Nicolas Sarkozy or Francois Hollande wins the elections. Bagis also called on Turkish voters living in France to vote, saying, "It can be clearly seen that French people aren’t happy with the economic situation in France, and nobody would vote for continuation of unhappiness. That’s why Hollande seems to be luckier." Bagis also reiterated that French President Sarkozy has been conducting an election rally against Turkey and Islam.
