Bagis meets with EU ambassadors

Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis yesterday met with Ireland's ambassador to Turkey Kenneth Thompson, as well as EU ambassadors. During the meeting, Bagis informed the ambassadors on Turkey's achievements in its EU membership bid and said that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan planned to meet with EU ambassadors in upcoming months. Bagis also reiterated that not a single negotiating chapter has been opened in the last five years, expressing hope that a few chapters would be opened during the upcoming EU term presidency of Ireland.
