Bagis praises Fule for "teaching European Parliament a lesson"

EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis stated yesterday that EU Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule’s speech was like a slap for those who do not want to see Turkey improve. Bagis said that the government’s pace of reforms and determination continued to strengthen its friends within the EU. "He taught the European Parliament a lesson," Bagis said. He added that those who do not see Turkey carrying out reforms must pay attention to Fule’s remarks. He argued that Turkey does not disappoint its "friends who support Turkey’s EU bid" with the steps it takes to foster an advanced democracy.
