UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon phoned Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday. In the phone conversation between the two leaders, Ban defined the incident in southeastern town of Akcakale which was hit by Syria, killing five Turks and wounding at least 13 others as unacceptable. For his part, Erdogan informed Ban on Turkey’s stance on the issue and told him that Turkey expected the UN Security Council to openly and clearly condemn Syria’s attack on Turkey.
