Head of Parliament's Foreign Affairs Commission Volkan Bozkir said that the EU membership bid is a strategic objective for Turkey, but that the EU is about to move away from its old magnificent days. Stating that the issue of visa exemption has reached become quite disturbing, Bozkir said that the EU has removed visa requirements for many countries as soon as they started membership talks, but it finds it difficult to take the simplest steps for Turkey. "Once the visas are mutually removed, maybe we will consider imposing visa requirements in order to deal with an army of unemployed people who will come from Europe to Turkey, because Europe has run out of business opportunities. I won't be surprised, if European people come to Turkey to look for a job," Bozkir added.
