Foreign ministers of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) member states late last week passed a joint declaration on combating climate change in the region, according to Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Spyros Kouvelis, calling the summit "a great success." Meeting in Thessalonica, Greece, the gathering focused on green development and entrepreneurship. As a forum for cooperation in a wide range of areas and a platform for political dialogue for its member states, including Turkey, Russia, Greece, Bulgaria and eight others, the BSEC encourages friendly good neighbor relations in the Black Sea region. Speaking at the meeting, State Minister Cevdet Yilmaz praised the BSEC's contributions to the region's energy sector and towards greater cooperation. Turkey said it would continue to support the BSEC.
