Caglayan praises Turkey's economy on the occasion of Republic Day
Issuing a statement on the occasion of the Republic Day, which marks the foundation of the Turkish Republic on October 29, Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said that our government has gained great ground since October 29, 1923 in terms of reaching the level of contemporary civilization which was shown to us by Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Stating that Turkey has gained great achievements mostly in economics and become the 17th largest economy in the world, Caglayan said that the Republic was progressing towards the level of contemporary civilization with firm steps. "Our aim is to become at least the 10th largest economy in the world, increase our per capita income to $25,000 and carry out merchandise exports totaling $500 billion in 2023, namely, the 100th anniversary of our glorious Republic," Caglayan added.
