Cicek holds contacts with Kazakhistan President
Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek, accompanied by a delegation of Turkish parliamentarians, was received by Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana yesterday. Speaking at the meeting, Nazarbayev said that bilateral relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan had developed rapidly in the last two decades and thanked the Turkish delegation for their visit. After the meeting with Nazarbayev, Cicek addressed deputies at the Kazakh Parliament, stressing Kazakhstan’s role as a leader country in its region as well as one of the key countries for global peace and security. Noting that commercial and economic relations between the two countries have further improved, Cicek said the close cooperation between the two countries was very important to restore peace and stability in Eurasia.
