Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu yesterday addressed the 4th Ambassadors Conference which was organized by the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TOBB) in Ankara, saying that successful Turkish businessmen living outside Turkey are the greatest supporters of Turkish ambassadors abroad. Stating that the economic geography should be expanded more rapidly than the political geography in order to be placed in top ten economies of the world, Davutoglu said that character of diplomacy has started to change as well and the methods followed by ambassadors should be revised in parallel to those changes. "All of ambassadors should know and the institutions like TOBB which represent our business world should remember that our cultural geography is wider than our political geography. Accordingly, if we want to boost economic capacity of our businessmen and achieve our goal of taking a place in top ten economies of the world, all of our embassies and representatives will be at the disposal of our businessmen towards this end," said Davutoglu. Davutoglu also shared his suggestions about strategies to be developed by Turkish businessmen with regard to diplomacy of economy, stressing that Turkey should change the nature of its commercial relations with its traditional economic partners such as EU-member countries and the US.
