Davutoglu and UN Secretary general discuss situation in Syria
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who continues talks in the US, had a phone conversation with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday to discuss the situation in Syria. During the phone talk, Davutoglu said that Turkey was ready for serving as a bridge and extending all the possible support so that humanitarian aid could be delivered to Homs and Zabadani, where people started to suffer from hunger due to the blockade of Syrian army. Davutoglu also briefed Ban on Turkey's diplomatic initiatives regarding developments in Syria. Ban thanked Turkey for the assistance given to Syrian refugees fleeing violence in Syria who have taken shelter in Turkey. Reportedly, Davutoglu and Ban agreed that the violence and killings in Syria must end immediately.
