Davutoglu :Assad and terrorist groups should be excluded from peace talks

11 Foreign Ministers from the Friends of Syria Core Group, including Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, came together for a meeting called "London 11" along with officials from the National Coalition for the Syrian opposition and the Revolutionary Forces so as to find a diplomatic solution to the turmoil in Syria and to start preparations for the Geneva 2 conference. Speaking after the meeting, British Foreign Secretary William Hague stated that the Syria National Council (SNC) agreed on the necessity to see the Assad regime gone in order to establish peace in the region. "International supporters of SNC will help it prepare for Geneva II and increase practical and humanitarian support for the Syrian people." Hague added. For his part, Davutoglu said that the meeting would bring along highly positive outcomes and Turkey reiterated its stance to exclude the Assad regime and terrorist groups from peace talks and added that 10 other countries also agreed that Assad and terrorist organizations should not be part of the peace talks. Davutoglu concluded his remarks by stating that the Syrian opposition's backers would continue their efforts to convince the SNC to attend the Geneva 2 conference.
