Syrian President Bashar al-Assad regime's violent crackdown on civilians could only be halted through concerted international action, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told a session on the Arab Spring at the World Economic Forum yesterday in Istanbul. Criticizing the international community for failing to unite and speak with one voice on Syria. "The international community must speak with one voice. That is the only way to change Assad's attitude. Otherwise, the autocratic regime illusion will continue," Davutoglu said, adding that Assad played on the weakness of the international community to buy time to push ahead with even more violent attacks.
