Davutoglu returns to Turkey

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu returned from the US to Turkey after completing talks in Washington on Tuesday. Davutoglu met with US officials in Washington, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta. Releasing a statement on the meeting between Davutoglu and Panetta, Pentagon spokesman George Little said that Panetta has hosted Davutoglu today to discuss common security interests of the two countries, their concerns over the situation in Syria, as well as ongoing cooperation between the two countries in Afghanistan. Little added that Panetta thanked Turkey for its ongoing contributions under NATO and its decision to host early-warning radar of NATO. After returning to Turkey, Davutoglu visited Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who has undergone a successful medical procedure on his digestive system over the weekend and extend his "get well" messages to him and briefed him on his recent contacts in the US.
