Davutoglu says we will not let any country patronize Turkey
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said they would not let any country or community of states patronize Turkey. Referring to a non-binding resolution on the handling of Gezi Park protests approved by the European Parliament (EP) on Thursday, Davutoglu said that once the EP notified Turkey about their resolution on the country, Turkey would send it back immediately. Underlining that the decision of the EP on Turkey was unacceptable, Davutoglu stressed that Turkey did not have to learn a lesson from a country or a group of countries. According to Davutoglu, the demonstrators, who had environmental motives despite their opposing views, were the natural and sincere actors of the process. However, Davutoglu underlined that there were provocateurs and international actors involved in the process. Davutoglu argued that no government would allow such provocateurs, adding if they are allowed today, there won't be any trace of democracy left for tomorrow.
