Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said they requested an explanation from Switzerland, which has launched a pre-investigation about the EU Minister Egemen Bagıs who said "1915 events were not genocide. Let them come and arrest me," in Davos. Davutoglu who stated that the Swiss government, unlike France, is of the opinion that genocide claims should be left to historians, said, "There is no genocide law in Switzerland. There is only a court ruling. Furthermore, Swiss government doesn’t support the court ruling. We summoned the ambassador and asked him to make an explanation. There is no proceeding, but a pre-investigation."
