Traveling to Baku on Oct. 30 for a three-day visit at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, former Turkish President Suleyman Demirel delivered a keynote speech at the 3rd Baku International Humanitarian Forum. Stating that eradicating the poverty should still be the top priority of international community, Demirel said, "The United Nations should not be ‘united' just on paper. We should unite both in our actions and words." Touching also upon the Karabakh issue, Demirel argued that an immediate and equitable action is required on this issue. "Armenia should see the positive impacts of normalization in its relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan," Demirel concluded.
