Turkey wants to help Venezuela boost its oil production, Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said during a visit to the country earlier this week. Yildiz said Turkey wants to engage in oil exploration in the country. At a reception for Yildiz, who was visiting the country for official talks, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro Moros Moros said that Turkey left a good impression on them and they would be glad to develop bilateral trade protocols. Turkish Petroleum Corporation Chairman Mehmet Uysal said Venezuela currently produces 3 billion barrels of oil per day, but that this could be increased to 7-10 billion, matching Saudi Arabia's output.
