Erdogan meets with Hamas leader Mashaal

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal in Ankara on February 18. During the meeting, Mashaal informed Erdogan on the reconciliation process between his movement and Fatah and Erdogan stressed that it was critically important to continue the process and that it would contribute to peace process in the Middle East. During his visit to Turkey, Mashaal was accompanied by four high-ranking Hamas officials.
