Erdogan receives Montenegro's Prime Minister
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday received Montenegro's Prime Minister Igor Luksic in an official ceremony at his office in Ankara. During the ceremony, national anthems of the two countries were sung and Luksic saluted the escort of honor. Afterwards, Erdogan and Luksic introduced their delegations to each other, held bilateral and inter-delegation talks and held a joint press conference. Erdogan replied questions of reporters after his press conference with Luksic. Regarding his meeting with CIA chief David Petraeus that took place yesterday, Erdogan said that Petraeus had been the guest of Turkey's National Intelligence Agency (MIT), adding that they held a meeting upon request of Petraeus. "We discussed recent developments in the region, especially Syria, Iraq and Iran," said Erdogan. Touching upon the situation in Syria and UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan's recent visit to Turkey, Erdogan said that Turkey has been closely following the process and warning the international public on the escalating tension both in Iran and Syria.
