Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to visit South Korea as part of his initial contacts abroad following the abdominal surgery he has undergone in November 2011. The Nuclear Security Summit to be held in Seoul on March 26-27 will also be attended by heads of states and governments from 47 countries. Reportedly, Erdogan will carry out intensive diplomatic contacts and bilateral talks with world leaders, mostly with US President Barack Obama in Seoul. The summit aims to deepen cooperation among participant countries, strengthen the institution and its partners and prevent nuclear materials from falling into terrorists' hands. Iran's nuclear file will also be discussed during the summit.
