Eroglu claims EU applies double standarts
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Dervis Eroglu, who visited Gaziantep over the weekend to attend celebrations of the 90th anniversary of its liberation from the enemy invasion, said that the EU had caused a deadlock in the Cyprus issue by making the Greek Cypriot administration an EU member. "The same EU has once again showed that it has applied and will continue to apply a double standard by urging Turkey to find a solution to the Cyprus issue," said Eroglu. Stating that their efforts with regard to negotiations aimed at finding a solution are underway and they are determined to leave the negotiation table honorably, Eroglu said that this couldn't be achieved unilaterally and they would like to see some good will from Greek Cypriots as well.
