Film director Coppola meets with Culture Minister Gunay

Oscar winning director Francis Ford Coppola yesterday met with Culture Minister Ertugrul Gunay in Ankara. During the meeting, Coppola told Gunay that he was thinking about shooting a movie about Istanbul, but not a historic one.

Saying that he wants to film modern Istanbul, Coppola added, "I want to show historic buildings and places, but first we’ll scout locations.” For his part, Gunay said the government would support Coppola making the film.
