Foreign ministers of CCTS gather in Bishkek

Foreign ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) consisting of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan gathered yesterday in Bishkek ahead of the 2nd summit of the CCTS to be attended by President Abdullah Gul, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and National Education Minister Omer Dincer as well. Speaking at the opening of meeting, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbayev firstly condemned the bombed attack which was carried out in the southeastern city of Gaziantep on Monday, leaving nine people dead and more than 60 people injured. Kazakbayev also said that his country always stands in solidarity with Turkey in its fight against terrorism. Similarly, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Halef Halafov stated that they supported Turkish government’s anti-terrorism policies. During the meeting, Davutoglu stated his thoughts over improvement of Turkish world, saying that Turkey is happy with Turkish world's common cultural heritage and that members of CCTS would be much stronger in the coming days.  Davutoglu also introduced the symbol of the Turkic Council which was adopted on Wednesday. "The symbol carries traces of the flags of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The symbol is blue as the Kazakh flag. It has a sun as is present on the Kyrgyz flag. It has the crescent of the Turkish flag. And, it has the star of the Azerbaijani flag. The symbol represents the four countries and two other brotherly countries to join us. Our countries and peoples will blend with each other and walk towards the future together," Davutoglu added.
