Gul meets with UN head Ban Ki-Moon in New York

In New York to attend the 65th session of UN General Assembly as well as hold sideline talks with his counterparts from around the world, President Abdullah Gul, along with his wife Hayrunnisa, attended a banquet hosted in his honor by Turkish Ambassador to the UN Ertugrul Apakan over the weekend. Other guests at the banquet included UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Deputy Prime Minister for the Economy Ali Babacan, and several UN deputy secretary-generals. Before the occasion, Gul and Ban Ki-moon had a face-to-face meeting. Gul also attended a meeting at the Turkish House in New York with reporters and representatives of US Turkish groups.
