Guler Sabanci says Turkey's EU membership is inevitable

Turkey's Sabanci Holding Executive Board Chairperson Guler Sabanci said in an interview to Austrian Die Presse newspaper that Turkey's EU membership is inevitable, stating that Turkey will become a full member of the EU sooner or later. "Process is more important than the outcome. The EU membership process is important in terms of democratization and human rights and we still believe in EU as a role model and a model for democracy. Elections can change many things," Sabanci said. Sabanci warned that the European Union needs diversity, adding that if EU did not change, it would turn into a static museum.
