Higher board of terrorism convenes

Higher Board of Counter Terrorism convened on Thursday under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay in Ankara. The three-hour meeting was attended by Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin, Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin, National Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, Secretary General of National Security Council Muammer Turker, Deputy Chief of the Turkish General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar, Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie Forces Gen. Bekir Kalyoncu and National Intelligence Agency (MIT) Undersecretary Hakan Fidan. During the meeting, top military and civilian officials discussed the ongoing fight against terrorism, recent rise in terrorist acts by the terrorist PKK, developments in Syria and the situation of Syrian refugees into Turkey.
