Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, accompanied by Prime Minister's wife Emine Erdogan and his daughter Sumeyye Erdogan, yesterday travelled to Myanmar, where a Muslim massacre is taking place. Speaking to reporters prior to their departure for a two-day visit from Ankara's Esenboga Airport, Erdogan said that a humanitarian crisis was happening in Myanmar and that they were going there to see what is happening in place and to determine what can be done. Stating that the humanitarian crisis happening in the region was not completely known, Erdogan said, "We will make evaluations in place. We will try to understand what we can do. We would like to distribute humanitarian aid in accordance with their needs, just like we did in Somalia." When pointed out that Muslim people are forced to leave their homes, Erdogan said, "This is unbelievable. In a period when our own people are imitating and taking example of Buddhist teachings, I'm terrified to see the things done by the men of religion there. If wonder how the world would react, if the same massacre was carried out by a Muslim man of religion. I don't know if they are willing to launch a religious war. Yet it is huge brutality. It is also very sad that this is carried out in the name of religion. The entire world should pay attention to here."
