Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is visiting Ankara today upon an official invitation by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. Along with bilateral relations and major international developments, particularly the latest situation in Syria is expected to be the hot topic of the meeting between the two ministers. Iranian Ambassador to Ankara Alireza Bigdeli noted that the visit could mark the beginning of a new period in Turkish-Iranian relations as the hopes for a political resolution to the Syrian case are high and the possibility of a military operation is fading.
