Istanbul ranks first in list of cities organizing congresses

The Association Meetings International (AMI) Magazine, a reference magazine about worldwide congress tourism, released congress tourism analysis for the year 2011 in its November issue. Accordingly, Istanbul ranks the first in large congress cities in the statistics of the International Congress and Conventions Association (ICCA). The magazine also covered an evaluation made by Chairman of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) and Istanbul Congress and Visitors Bureau (ICVB) Murat Yalcintas about the analysis. Stating that the AMI Magazine has covered a new evaluation about congresses with a minimum of 300 and 500 participants, Yalcintas said that Istanbul has ranked the first in congresses with at least 500 participants and shared the second rank with Barcelona in congresses with more than 300 participants.
