Istanbul to run in full cpacity till 2019

Having missed the chance to host the 2020 Olympics, Istanbul will reportedly run full capacity until 2019 in lodging industry and will host 8 giant organizations and 37 fairs  solely in September 2013. Among the organizations to be held in Istanbul in the short run, the 6th Knowledge Cities World Summit will be inaugurated with the "Bridge Together" theme tomorrow. Basaran Ulusoy, President of Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, stated that Istanbul will be among the top ranking cities of not only in summer tourism, but also business and cultural tourism. "We expect the number of tourists to visit Istanbul will reach 13 million this year. Antalya is the capital of summer vacation and Istanbul is the capital of business and cultural tourism. 35 million tourists are expected to visit Turkey this year with a revenue totaling $26 billion. Istanbul currently has 127,000-bed capacity and another 30,000 is yet to be added with 30 hotel projects under construction," Basaran added.
