Jagland to pay official visit to Turkey

Council of Europe (CoE) Secretary-General Thorbjorn Jagland is set to come to Ankara today upon the invitation of the Turkish government for high-level talks with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and some ministers.  As part of his contacts, issues of cooperation between the CoE and Turkey will be discussed. Furthermore, Jagland will be briefed on the reform process in Turkey with regard to such issues as human rights and the rule of law.
