The Muslim Brotherhood in Libya announced that it has formed a party called the Justice and Development Party after 42 years in the shadows of Moammar Gadhafi's regime. Muhammed Suvan was elected as party leader. Suvan is a hotel manager from Misrata. He has served eight years as a political prisoner until 2008. Muslim Brothers, one of the most organized movements in the country, is said to have already established branches in 18 cities. After Islamic movements' election victories in Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt in recent months, a similar result is expected to be witnessed in Libya.
