Kilicdaroglu visits monumental tomb of Denktas in TRNC

As part of his official contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the main opposition Republican Peoples' Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu yesterday met with Prime Minister of TRNC Irsen Kucuk. Stating that the main opposition party considers and supports the Cyprus issue as a national case, Kilicdaroglu said that they have also contributed to the struggle aimed at ensuring independence of the TRNC. Reiterating that the EU had made some commitments to improve direct commercial relations following a referendum on the Annan Plan, Kilicdaroglu called on Europeans to keep their promises. Kilicdaroglu also visited the monumental tomb of Rauf Denktas, founder president of the TRNC.
