Laricani and Salihi to visit Turkey

Following the visit paid by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to Tehran last week, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Laricani is set to arrive in Turkey tomorrow and Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Ekber Salihi is due in Turkey on January 18. Iranian Ambassador to Ankara Bahman Husseinpour yesterday held a press conference to discuss relations between Turkey and Iran, saying that the two countries share many issues in common, and thus they must develop their relations. Husseinpour also described the bilateral relations between the two countries as a tree that nobody would shake and destroy thanks to diplomatic efforts which were exerted in previous years. Stating that the US and Western Europe is disturbed by the awakening in Islamic world, Husseinpour said that this situation should not damage relations between Turkey and Iran. Husseinpour added that Tehran was in favor of the fact that nuclear talks will be hosted by Turkey.
