Muslim Bosnians buried yesterday 520 newly identified Srebrenica massacre victims in funeral ceremonies which were held at the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial and Cemetery. Approximately 50,000 people gathered at the cemetery for the 17th year of Srebrenica massacre as part of a ceremony, in which Turkey was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag with an accompanying delegation including Chairman of the Turkey-Bosnia-Herzegovina Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group and Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy from Bursa Hakan Cavusoglu, some other Parliament members, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Chairman Serdar Cam and Prime Ministry's Overseas Turks Agency Chairman Kemal Yurtnac. Bozdag left a wreath on the monument and prayed for deceased ones with the relatives of the victims. Bozdag later had talks with the families and offered his condolences. Following formal ceremonies, 520 coffins were laid to rest at the memorial cemetery. Speaking at the ceremony, Bozdag said that July was "the month of sorrow" for Bosnia-Herzegovina, adding, "We are here to share pain of our brothers and sisters in Bosnia-Herzegovina."
