Pakistani PM to visit urban renewal project
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will have a site visit to the award winning urban renewal project of Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKI) during his visit to Ankara. Having started his three-day official visit yesterday, the Pakistani PM will also be briefed about low-cost housing by TOKI. Cooperation in housing will be included in the agenda as part of a framework agreement to be negotiated between Turkey and Pakistan during Sharif's visit to Turkey. Meanwhile, there is also a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Mass Housing undersigned on 7 December 2010 in Ankara. Furthermore, TOKI built houses, schools, dormitories, government buildings, mosques and social facilities in Pakistan after the earthquake in Muzaffarabad region in 2005. TOKI also completed the construction of 4,620 houses and social facilities following the flood disaster in Pakistan in 2010.
