Parliament Speaker Sahin visits Bahrain

Visiting Bahrain, Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin yesterday met with the country's emir, Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa. During the meeting, Hamad said that he and President Abdullah Gul had recently resolved to develop bilateral relations but that the mechanisms for doing still need to be created. For his part, Sahin said that Turkey's European Union accession negotiations won't weaken its relations with its neighbors on the contrary strengthen them. Sahin also met with Bahrain's Prime Minister Khalifa Bin Salman al-Khalifa.
